Traffic Talks

Traffic Talks are informal stop-in presentations given by roadway safety experts at the ATSSA Pavilion #437 on the exhibit floor at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, AZ.

The ATSSA Pavilion will host a series of single-concept Traffic Talks and learning sessions throughout the day. These 25-minute sessions will encompass current trends and industry topics presented by the ATSSA leadership team and industry experts. Sunday, February 12 & Monday, February 13
1:30 - 1:55 p.m. Traffic Control Device Challenge for Students ATSSA Pavilion #437
  This discussion regards the joint Transportation Research Board (TRB) / ATSSA nationwide challenge for high school, college and university students with an interest in transportation and an understanding of traffic control devices. The challenge was created to promote innovation and stimulate ideas regarding traffic control devices with a goal to improve safety on the nation’s roadways.  
2:30 - 2:55 p.m. State Government Relations Program ATSSA Pavilion #437
  ATSSA is developing a new state government relations program, which will help ATSSA members and chapters create relationships with state decision-makers. It will provide the tools necessary for ATSSA members to lobby and educate legislators at the state level. Learn about how you can become involved in this new, member-driven program.  
3:30 - 3:55 p.m. Best Practices for Truck-Mounted Attenuator Application ATSSA Pavilion #437
  This session will discuss best practices in the application of truck-mounted attenuators (TMA), including stationary and moving operations. TMA location, roll-ahead distance and driver safety will be covered. The application of TMAs during installation and removal of traffic control devices will also be presented.
