Calling all Exhibitors

Each year, exhibitors are encouraged to apply for innovative opportunities designed to help gain the maximum exposure for new products at ATSSA's Annual Convention & Traffic Expo. Specifics for 2027 are being decided, but these events may include ATSSA's New Products Rollout (NPRO) Online and Expo Floor Listings, and the NPRO Tour where participants could be considered for an ATSSA Innovation Award.

The application for exhibitors will open later in 2026.
Please direct any NPRO questions to ATSSA’s Nagham “Melodie” Matout El-Zine ([email protected]).

Videos from the 2026 NPRO presentation submissions with the Innovation Award winner and honorable mentions can be found below. All previous years’ submissions can be found here.

ATSSA's New Products Rollout (NPRO) ListingS

Discover the future of roadway safety innovations with the NPRO! For 2026, the New Products Rollout Online and Expo Floor Listings provided participants with extra exposure by being included on an online listing and at Traffic Expo, included in the NPRO Summary Report and on ATSSA's website, plus the NPRO was promoted on social media. New products must have been introduced after Jan. 1, 2024, and be market-ready.

ATSSA NPRO TOUR & Innovation Award consideration

Participants in the 2026 NPRO Tour must have been entered into the NPRO Listings opportunity first. Up to 15 Tour participants had the opportunity to briefly present their product to tour participants, which included public transportation officials. There was an additional fee in 2026 to participate in the tour.

An ATSSA Innovation Award is the highest honor NPRO participants can achieve. One Innovation Award winner is recognized from innovative products entered into the NPRO Tour. The Innovation Award winner and any Honorable Mentions will have the opportunity to present their product and video during a Micro Session on the Traffic Expo floor.

Those accepted into the NPRO Tour had their product and informational video reviewed by a panel of department of transportation (DOT) judges who assessed innovation, safety features and newness to the market of their product, per scoring criteria. From this initial review, the judges selected a group of finalists whom they chatted with at the company’s Traffic Expo booth.

No additional fee for Innovation Awards consideration.

Winner - 2026 Innovation Award
Skidabrader Group, Fort Worth, Texas

Product: Work Zone Blank Canvas – Work Zone Blank Canvas is a mechanical process that removes ghost striping, residual markings and pavement scarring that may confuse drivers and reduce safety in work zones. The process uses large-format shotblasting of 550 steel media in 72-inch-wide passes to restore a uniform color and texture across the roadway, on asphalt or concrete surfaces, and to remove surface scarring. The new surface also provides the benefits of added friction and reduced glare. A single Work Zone Blank Canvas machine can complete up to two lane miles within an 8-hour closure window.

Honorable Mention - 2026 Innovation Award
Horizon Signal, Reading, Penn.

Product: Advanced Warning System (AWS) – This portable, trailer-mounted alert system warns motorists when they are approaching slowed or stopped traffic, giving them extra time to slow down safely. The AWS uses sensor carts that can be strategically deployed upstream of a work zone to detect speed reductions or stopped traffic, coupled with trailer-mounted elevated LED beacons positioned farther upstream. When the sensor carts detect a traffic disruption, as indicated by speeds dropping below a preset threshold, they signal the beacons to display a visual signal to motorists that slower traffic lies ahead. This provides a real-time warning to help drivers respond to changing traffic conditions. The AWS incorporates wireless sensing, solar‑powered operation and a heavy‑duty trailer structure rated for sustained 100 mph winds.
